Plastic is fantastic

The fantastic thing with plastic is that it fits with all moods, styles, regardless the colour of the sky. How easy it is to create a multitude of looks throughout the year.

With Meduse, your feet could be the main character of a Kim Ki Duk’s movie, “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring“. All the time, everywhere. Satine, Sun, Jumpail, Flumpail… and Satine.

Wearing plastic is like red lipstick. It makes you stand out. Either you want to add a poetic, futuristic or intriguing touch of boldness and creativity. It can be combined with the more classic outfit and inject a fresh breeze of playfulness and coolitude. Materials blend together, tranparency makes it aerial, colour conbination are endless.

From catwalk to everyday life, plastic comes now in all sort of wearables, clothes and accessories.  It’s not audacious to say that the simplest detail that create the most sophisticate effect.

Here are few ideas to add an interesting twist to your outfit:

Monday Music – Best of French

9 Mar , 2015

collage Méduse jelly shoes & french music albums

Us Frenchies – we really do know how to make an awesome tune.

I mean, let’s look at just a few of our great legends – Edith Piaf, Françoise Hardy and Daft Punk. And you know what? Today – we’re still singing in tune 😉

We know everyone’s familiar with artists like David Guetta and Justice, but that’s not all there is to our musique. We’ve been playing along to many musical movements for years, from the modern chanson in the swinging 60’s to the nu-wave 80’s and now more recently the electro-poptastic scene.

French music gives you the best of both worlds – our music is set to fit any mood. Think about it – we’re all for deep, poetic and meaningful lyrics, but at the same time, we can’t get enough of pumping the music out loud and busting some moves on the dancefloor!

So guys, enough talking – join us in toe-tapping in your Méduse, to our Best of French playlist!

Et voilà !

Bikers are the new ‘Garçonnes’

9 Mar , 2015

Who said a Garçonne has to have short hair and a smoky suit?

At Méduse, a pair of Noir & Rouge Jumpy Boots, a bomber jacket, and a red biker helmet with a simple backpack is WAAAAY cooler than that!

And for a softer reference, check out Ari Fitz’s style series for tomboys. Here are the must-have pieces for the new Garçonne style =D

Méduse, Jelly Shoes and Revolution

9 Mar , 2015

Méduse red Jelly shoes revolution

There used to be some clichés about fashion: it should be superficial, the demonstration of a consumption-society which goes totally mad. And if it’s true that fast-fashion might sometimes flirt with danger, it does not necessarily mean that all fashion lovers are weirdos.

Remember Coco Chanel? Style was a statement, for emancipation. Know Cara Delevingne? Beyond the badass attitude, there’s also an amazing call for freedom. Style details actually tell a lot about someone… and about the community you live with.

More recently, in 1968, one of the most famous mottos was: “Under the paving stones, the beach”. A call for rethinking values, borders, what we all fear to break.

Revolutions don’t necessarily need to be violent; revolution is a spirit, a state of mind. An exploration of the world we live in, that we interrogate.

Wearing jelly-shoes and Méduse is a sort of statement: how about wearing them in the rain? Who would be shocked actually? And who would be smiling?

Dare to Méduse-map your world.

Méduse Walks in France

8 Mar , 2015

Méduse AW15/16 catalogue Autruche & Nolwenn_creme

This week we have been celebrating our friends around the world, to get in touch with our cultural side. French culture, to be specific. Well it’s obvious isn’t it? Méduse = FUN, ORIGINAL… FRENCH!

So dear friends, let’s explore ‘the Hexagon’ and discover the hidden treasures! And to start off this tour guide, we’re focusing on the homeland of Méduse, Pays de la Loire in France.

So what first? Something the whet your appetite – because, well, we love our shoes almost as much as our food. Whether you like sweet or salt more, the Guérande salt marshes provide the ultimate ingredient for our salted caramel treats. And to top it off, who doesn’t appreciate a traditional Crêpe, dripping in deliciously, sticky caramel? Get your French cooking on and check out this recipe!

And so to Nantes, the home of many talented individuals – take us as proof ;p We share this beautiful city with a famous band – C2C. Have a listen and transport yourself to the Nantaise harbour side with its yellow cranes and Loire river running by.

Last but by no means least, this region is home to our two Méduse stars – bloggers Nolwenn C. and L’Autruche. Embodying the Nantaise style and the Méduse charm, they were a perfect choice to play top models for our new A/W ’15/16 campaign. Intrigued? Well,  we’ll just have to leave you in suspense for now…

So, admit it. Life in Western France is pretty enticing no? Pop on your Jumpy and start exploring the region for yourself.

Got a story or recommendation for us from Pays de la Loire? Share your tips and tricks on the best sites, flavours and experiences for jelly friends alike to check out!

Until next time…

2014 – You’ve Been GREAT!

30 Dec , 2014

collage Cabourg Mon Amour Méduse Jellies

Although all the Méduse team are looking forward to having a big bash to celebrate the New Year, we’re also thinking about all the fantastic stuff we’ve been lucky enough to be a part of and how 2014 might just be our favourite year yet!

Firstly we had great time at fashion exhibition Who’s Next where we got to show off our jellies to some of the trendiest people in Paris.

We also got to work with those stylish girls at Paulette, who showed off their chicness in our SUN jellies.

And lastly, but possibly most importantly, we’ve been spreading the jelly love with you guys and in return you have shared your experiences with us through all your snazzy Instagram photos.

So yes 2014 has been ‘jellytastic’, however that just means we have to try even harder to make 2015 even better!

A Cosy Christmas with Méduse…

24 Dec , 2014

Méduse Jumpy boots marron Style board

We felt inspired, it’s Christmas after all! Just one look at our chestnut coloured JUMPY boots got us

in the mood for, well, ‘chestnuts roasting on an open fire’.

It’s been a busy year and we’ve got lots of exciting things lined up for 2015. Get ready for Who’s

Next in January, our new S/S ’15 campaign release and much more!

But before all that excitement…we’re thinking of coming in from the cold, kicking off our Méduse

and putting on some Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby to really put us in the mood.

Candles lit. Fluffy hat? Of course. Crackling vinyl – playing. Marron / Noir Jumpy boots waiting to be

taken out for a walk tomorrow? Certainly.

What about you?
