At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

Spotting our fellow Jumpy lovers from the UK, Quattro Rish, a buzzing boutique, share their tips and trends for spring / summer 15! They have an eye for simple, elegant fashion and they certainly keep our minds ticking with their fresh fashion predictions. Here we go!

You are 4 friends who launched your fashion boutique in the UK. How would you describe your current collections?

Yes we were four friends to begin with but now we are a husband and wife team as the other couple decided to move back to sunny Sicily just after shop was opened ! We have a wonderful team at QR who all help with styling and buying along with our very own blogger! As a rule of thought I sell what I love and what I would wear keeping it simple, understated and elegant with pieces which reflect my style. Our current collections are mostly Scandinavian brands such as Baum und Pferdgarden, Custommade and Twist & Tango which offer edgy, simple and understated designs. We also love casual French pieces like your fab wellies and American Vintage, and the fresh and clean English pieces from MiH Jeans.

We love how there’s a touch of Frenchness with your style and photography! What accessories would you wear, to show off a nouveau French style for this season?

Ah , thank you, that’s a great compliment! The must have accessories would be a pair of round shaped sunnies with a fringe bag.  Both instantly update any outfit for some serious street style.

If you could live life in one colour, what would it be and why?

It has to be blue, from navy to dark to light blue ! There is nothing more chic and elegant than a slightly loose blue masculine shirt in good cotton worn by women!  You just need to add heels or Jumpy wellies, et voilà !

Here’s a tricky question – if you had to choose, what is your favourite Jumpy boot and why?

Hmmm, I love them all but it would have to be the classic black with zebra print on the side. They are just super cool and stylish. They can be worn very smart or casual, I just love the design mix of the Chelsea boots / wellington boot / discreet animal print !

And now for a challenge! We know you love our Jumpy boots, so we challenge you to showcase and encapsulate these two things in one photo: Méduse + spring. Are you up for the challenge?

We love a challenge ! Challenge : Sun, fresh green, sky blue, denim shorts and Jumpy in Salmon / Pink !

You said it! We think we’ll take you up on that Spring image 😉 sun, blue skies, cool denims and our beloved Jumpy boots! Thank you very much for speaking with us Quattro Rish, we really look forward to seeing your summer surprises in Méduse!

Méduse Talks … With Eva-Mona

10 Mar , 2015

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share the same values as us – bold, colourful and original. Each week, we talk to a rising star about their art, talent, predictions and how Méduse features in their life. Another week, another star…

It’s time to dare with Méduse! We’re feeling wild and adventurous, as it’s animal print week! And there’s nothing better than getting into the wild spirit, than with our best buddies: leopard, zebra and panther Jumpy! So, today we are talking to a very special guest, who loves to roam around in her Zebra Jumpy boots. She’s a blogger, painter and a total food-lover. We give you Eva-Mona from Aprilfourteenth!

Is it the way you dress that influences your mood? Or rather your mood inspiring the way you dress?

My clothes usually illustrate my mood – depending on my daily schedule, I can wear casual clothes, dress like an artist or be fancy dressed.

Does wearing your zebra Jumpy or leopard print Jumpy make you feel wilder? More energetic?

I don’t know about wilder but definitely more energetic yes ! 😉

What colour do you prefer to wear with this kind of animal print?

Usually, I will prefer dark colors when wearing my Jumpy boots. I prefer to dress simple, so I can draw more attention to the animal print!

Could you draw an animal that represents you? ( No worries, we are not expecting a piece of art, a quick sketch on Paint will be perfect 😀 )

A tiger-striped cat stretching out… Here is my drawing !

We could not help ourselves out – we went through all your cooking creations… and it made us really, really, really hungry ! So, we here’s your culinary challenge: we dare you to cook anything you like with an animal print on it. Zebra stripes or leopard spots – you decide ! Of course, if you complete the challenge, you can challenge us to do something! 😉

For the Méduse challenge, I created a cheesecake with a cherry sauce. I used Zebra stripes to decorate this Amarena cheesecake with Amarena cherries and white chocolate. You can find the receipe on my blog Spoonencore.

OH MY. Someone fetch us a spoon! And only one spoon – we’re not sharing, #sorrynotsorry.

Are you ready to step into the wild with Méduse? All week, we’ll be featuring the best of animal print, so don’t go anywhere!

Eva-Mona, you’ve been amazing, your cheesecake looks epic and you keep rockin’ those Jumpy boots! You can keep up to date with Eva-Mona’s culinary and artsy world on her Instagram, her personal diary and food blog here.

Méduse Talks… With Artlex

10 Mar , 2015

Jumpy boots-léopard-Meduse (1)

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share the same values as us – bold, colourful and original. Each week, we talk to a rising star about their art, talent, predictions and how Méduse features in their life. Another week, another star…

We know it. You know it. Just like a tiger in a wild savannah – animal print lives in our wardrobes.

To paraphrase Baudelaire, modernism is this fleeting half of the art whose second part is eternal. Eternal, just like the spots and the stripes of the animal kingdom. We at Méduse have re-invented these exotic prints with our zebra Jumpy, leopard print Jumpy and leopard print tall boot Flamac. (see below). It’s modern. It’s mode. It’s Méduse.

K&Z-edit-1

K&Z-edit-2

We wanted to know how this trend is perceived by others. And by others, we asked none other than fashion blogger Artlex who gives her view on this timeless trend.

Méduse: How your outfit influence your state of mind? Does it have an impact on your mood, or does your mood have an impact on your outfit?

Artlex: My outfit, my make-up and even my hairdressing reflect my mood. If I’m happy, motivated by a project, or if it’s sunny (and not only outside, in my heart too!), I want it to shine through! I treat my hair, refine my make-up and take a lot of pleasure in choosing my clothes. On the other hand, if I get up on the wrong side of the bed, tired and grumpy, I put on the first thing that I see, lol! I just wrap a duvet around my head, dust on a bit of powder for my make-up and that’s enough for my day!
M: Do your Jumpy boots with a Zebra or Leopard print make you feel a bit wilder and ready for action?
A: Ha ha! Wilder, maybe not, but more original, that’s for sure. The little leopard touch makes all the difference among my numerous pairs of shoes. 😉 The big advantage, since I have my Jumpy is that when it rains, it’s almost a pleasure to go out in the rain!

MWhich colours do you like to wear with your leopard print Jumpy boots?

A: When I wear my Jumpy, I initially associate it with natural colours: the camel, the beige and brown are perfect.
M:Draw us an animal which embodies who you are! (no worries, we’re not expecting a work-of-art, a quick sketch on Paint would be awesome 😀 )

How cool is this cat? Or should we say, how cool is this jelly-loving cat?! WE’RE IN LOVE! Thank you so much Artlex! Keep up to date with Artlex’s world on her blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Pinterest !

And you, our Méduse friends, what’s your take on animal print? On a scale of 1 (not your taste) to 10 (absolutely awesome!) how much do you love it? Let us know in the comments!
