Méduse talks with… KADI LV

25 May , 2016

160428_KADI-LV-POST_02

Say hello to Kadi, a Parisian Art Director, who is fascinated by Korean fashion and the digital world. Make room for our creative dreamer…

M: Hey there Kadi! We’re pleased to have you in the hot-seat! So we’ll give the mic to you! Tell us more about yourself!
K: Hi everyone, my name is Kadi! I am a Parisian 26 year old, crazy about digital and fashion. As a career, I am an Digital Art Director in an agency. In my personal life, I have a fashion blog, Kadi LV, which I created over a year ago. I made it after one of my friends told me to do so, and I don’t regret it in the slightest! I love writing articles, especially about my outfits, inspired by Korean fashion.

M: As you’re an Art director, you must have plenty of cool creative things to keep you busy. Can you tell us more about the projects you work on? Have you always had an artistic mind?
K: In general, I work on website creation for ad campaigns, mobiles and web apps. I also make visuals for specific brands on social networks (mostly on Facebook and Instagram).
Concerning the projects, there are a lot in agencies! My favourite brands that I’ve been working for are Puma and Sony, in partnership with Spotify. It’s a real pleasure because they have a real visual universe which is awesome!
Regarding creation, I have studied art but I always liked painting and drawing (even writing novels) when I was younger. I would say that I have an artistic mind. Nevertheless, digital creation requires a lot of technical skills, which I acquired with different formations.

M: Of course, you’re a fashionista, just like us! What are the trends and styles you’ll be sporting this spring?
K: With great weather just around the corner, open air festivals are on their way (for example Coachella, which just ended). Thus, light blouses, white or with coloured floral patterns are a must have for this spring. Also, casual boho dresses paired with a denim jacket for the day, and with a leather jacket for the night. The good weather gives us the perfect opportunity to wear sandals or ballerinas :-).

M: We have a little fashion challenge for you, and we’re sure you’re gonna ace it. Could you pair one of our summer shoes with a few clothes and accessories you have your eye on?
K: This was a tricky one for me, but my favourite pair is the Capri model in silver. I love the criss-cross design and I think it can fit with a lot of different outfits, for day or night! I have paired it with this gorgeous Oasis dress, a Nasty Gal leather jacket, a Kenzo Kalifornia bag, Quay sunglasses and for a little touch of Korean fashion, a necklace and a bracelet from Kitsch Island.

M: We’re loving the monochrome! Thanks for your fashion inspo, Kadi! Cheers for the chat! Until next time…

MÉDUSE TALKS WITH… CATIA

10 Feb , 2016

catiacatoofeature

Last week, we caught up with the fashion fanatic, violet-haired blogger So Pretty Little ThingsThis week, we interview Catia, an InstaBlogger who loves photography and audiovisual media. Discover Catia, a young lady who is a curious kitten, with a penchant for animals.

1

M – You’re a film and audiovisual media student and you’re also an InstaBlogger! Could reveal more about yourself?
C – Hello artists and Méduse! I am Catia with a C, I am 23 and I am passionate about the arts. I like simplicity, travelling, exploring and exotism. By the way, one of my wishes is to travel around the world. I am also a very positive person. Despite negative things, I try to see the best out of a bad situation. It permits me to go on and to not feel downhearted. Happiness comes first from yourself, don’t you think? So, I blossom and share my good vibes to everyone. I don’t like to be surrounded by grumpy people!

catia

M –  Animal protection is a very important cause to you. You have several animals yourself, could you introduce them to us? And if you had to pick your favourite animal, what would it be?
C – Yes, I loooove animals! I have a dog, a cat and a few birds. If I could look after several animals or found a refuge, I would do it. I always lived with animals, since I was young; looking after and protecting them. For me, animals are very important, just like nature and they deserve respect. My favourite? That’s a tricky one! I love all animals so much from teeny tiny shells to gigantic whales.
 oiseau
M – Has being a film student influenced the way you take snapshots?
C – I’m not sure to be honest… I study theoretical cinema and photography which gives me good practice for my hobby. I’m no professional, but taking pictures and working with light is essential. I hope to improve myself and I want to pursue my studies in cinema pictures a bit more.  Finally, I think that the arts is something that can’t be taught. You either you have a sensitive feeling for art or not. I certainly have an artistic side, which has pushed me to study this field. And to link a personal passion to a job is so rewarding.

4

M – And now for your challenge! What are your favourite Méduse boots? Could you prepare us an outfit showing off your personal style with a pair of our boots?
C – This the look I was thinking about… I chose the Jumperic boots, paired with some boyfriend jeans, a black jacket, a silver ring and a planet bag for a quirky touch.

catiacatoopost

M – Thanks Catia for joining us this week! You’re totally right about having that knack for the arts – we certainly do feel like arty farties ourselves! Check out her awesome snapshots on her Instagram here!

MÉDUSE TALKS WITH… SO PRETTY LITTLE THINGS

3 Feb , 2016

SoPrettyLittleThings Featured

Last week, we caught up with 5Pockets Team, who gave us a masterclass on denim. This week, we discover Jess of Soprettylittlethings, a violet-haired blogger passionate about fashion cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

‘I have chosen the Jumpat boots because I think they’re perfect with its touch of camel.’

3

M – Hey there Jess ! So we’ve spotted that you’re a fashion, beauty, cooking and lifestyle blogger. Could you tell us some more facts and features about yourself?
J – Hi everyone, I’m Jess, a blogger from the south of France. I am crazy about fashion, rugby, cooking and Disney (yes, I have a range of different passions!) I like to share my personal loves and interests with my readers but I also involve my boyfriend with whom I do style articles with from time to time.

2

M – We noticed on your blog that you showcase a lot of gluten-free recipes – we can hear our stomach rumbling! When did you start to cook without gluten? And do you have a favourite recipe for winter?
J – It’s been quite a while since I’ve been cooking gluten-free, but I’m not doing it because it’s in trend or as a diet, but because I’m gluten intolerant, thus I can’t eat it. There are loads of comforting recipes in winter, and one of my favourites is chocolate cake – it’s my guilty pleasure!

4

M – We also noticed that you’re a big fan of deco! What’s the ‘must have’ of this season?
J – For fashion and deco this season, the top trend is texture and materials – you have to experiment, get creative and play with them! We’re moving away from the once trendy marble and metal features, to wood, which will become popular once again around the home.

1

M – We have a challenge for you! Could you choose your favourite pair of Méduse shoes (high boots or ankle boots) and create a styleboard? You can pick up all the clothes and accessories that’s right up your street!
J – I have chosen the Jumpat boots because I think they’re perfect with its touch of camel (one of my favourite colours). They’re versatile and can be paired with skirts, dresses, shorts, jeans and trousers. They are classic and modern at the same time. I’ve paired them with winter clothes, with a slight boho theme!

IMG_3945

Thanks a lot for joining us this week! We’re loving your boho-chic vibe, and we’ll certainly take on your tips for styling up the home and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Catch up with Jess’s blog and Instagram – she’s one not to miss!

MÉDUSE TALKS WITH… SLANELLE

20 Jan , 2016

Slanelle1

Last week, we met They Call Me Mellie, a fashion blogger who is kooky about tip-top brunchs!

This week, we interview Slanelle, a mega star in the fashion and lifestyle world. Here she joins us to talk about her universe and what passions rocks her world.

M – Hello Slanelle! You’re a blogger that has been around on the net for quite some time. What kinda topics do you cover on your blog, and what are your interests?
S – Hi! On my blog, I mainly post outfits of the day and from time to time, I talk about beauty, travel (I love travelling all around the world!), and music, because I can sing and I can play the guitar.

02

M – No need to tell us that you love travelling – we can already see this on your blog! So, what are your favourite destinations to visit?
S – My favourite destination is Oslo, which I visited in 2014. I spent 4 days there, but I simply fell in love with the city. The people are lovely, life is great and you always feel like you’re safe there. I also love Rome, I’ve been there twice. Italy is really charming! This year, I’m going to Tokyo! It’s a place I’ve been dreaming about since I was a teenager! I think I’m gonna love it!

03

M – We listened to your song covers, and we LOVE them! When did you start singing and why did you take up this hobby?
S – In fact, I’ve liked singing ever since I was a child. I always broke into a trending song in the charts. At 17, I took up the guitar and I began to sing only with the guitar. Sometimes I can’t sing very well, but I always enjoy it!

01

M – We have a little challenge for you?! Could you chose your favourite pair of Méduse shoes and propose us a styleboard to kick off your style scene for 2016?
S – I think I would chose the sea-green or salmon pink Nikita, and I’d pair them with a white dress, like this!

Slanelle Styleboard

Thanks a lot Slanelle for your answers! We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to join us! You’re a true star, and you know you can count on us to keep up to date with your world. You’d be silly to miss out on her blog – check out the style icon’s universe!

MÉDUSE TALKS WITH… THEY CALL ME MELLIE

13 Jan , 2016

Theycallmemelliefeatured
Last week in the hot seat was Margaux, Instagramer of Hopelessly Loving! This week we speak to high-flying fashion blogger Amelia, of ‘They Call Me Mellie’.
She knows what’s hot on the scene in NYC and she knows what’s hip-happening in Paris. Meet fashion blogger Amelia, a girl who has lived the American Dream and knows what a brunch spread should look like.

‘I love your Jumpleo boots, I find them so quirky and fun!’

2

M – Hello Mellie! You’re a fashion, lifestyle, travel and beauty blogger! Could you tell us a few words about yourself for those who don’t know you yet?
A – Hey Méduse, my name’s Amélia and I started my blog They Call Me Mellie this summer – a project I had in mind for a while. I was born in France but I grew up in Polynesia and in the USA, that’s why I have a Parisian style with an international touch. Travelling is part of me and my identity –  I’m passionate about anything from fashion, design, art and food – things which are a huge part of my travelling around the world. That’s my way of living – thriving on what’s around me!
4
M – San Francisco, Los Angeles… You’ve been living the American dream! What can you tell us about the fashion industry there? Are there any differences with French or European fashion?
A – Yes, I had the chance to live the American dream quite young. My mum is an ambitious woman and we moved there for her career. Styles are so different in USA! There aren’t many trends though. From a city to a state, styles change and so do the beauty standards. San Francisco’s fashion is modern, natural yet it has a hipster touch, whereas in LA, fashion standards are so different – far more about glamour and sexiness. In New York, styles are ever-changing and they are far closer to what we know in Europe, or at least in Paris. The Parisian style to me is the most sophisticated. I think what makes a difference in Paris is that women dress for themselves and for other women. In USA, I feel like a lot of women mostly dress for men.
1
M – Food time! You’re a brunch-addict and your pictures whet our appetite! So what’s the perfect brunch recipe?
A – I’m truly passionate about brunch, probably my American side again. To me, a moment for family and friends – growing up, my mum would invite my friends and their parents to our home for massive brunch. Surprisingly, I love to go for a brunch at restaurants, as I love to try new things and discover new flavours. A perfect brunch would be made a freshly squeezed orange juice or a fruit smoothie (kiwi, banana, strawberry), a latte, some savoury treats (omelette, scrambled, Eggs Benedict), some sweet treats (pancakes, waffles or French toast) and a small fruit salad. For a festive brunch, add a glass of champagne to celebrate!

3

M – As a professional fashionista, you have a true expertise in clothing that we are curious to challenge! Our new collection for rainy days has a range of styles, equestrian-chic, colourful and original patterns… Do have a favourite pair? Could you prepare a styleboard and tell us a few words about this style?
A – I have quite a preppy style – I love being elegant whilst remaining feminine. I love your Jumpleo boots, I find them so quirky and fun and I love the ‘animal’ print – plus they are not too showy! I’d add rolled up boyfriend jeans to show a bit of ankle, a leopard print handbag to match the chelsea boots and a kitty-cat hairband for fun!
05Well Amelia, with all your wise words, we want to jet-set around the world just like you! Thank you ever so much for joining us! We love your unique style and we can definitely learn a thing or two about accessorizing just like you! Keep up to date with her blog and Instagram.

M – You’re an Instagrammer, blogger and newly Parisian who reveals all about fashion, lifestyle and beauty! So… who’s Parisienne Rose?
R – Well, Parisienne Rose is simply a girl from Brittany named Rosyne who went to Paris for her studies and has worked there since September! I just got my degree in nursing and I’m currently working in an operating room. Quite different from my Instagram and my blog, you’re gonna tell me! Well, that’s my way to escape from work in my nurse uniform, I’m still a coquettish woman! I especially love fashion and beauty and I try my best to show it in my Instagram pictures – and now my blog as I feature tips and my fave picks!
Capturing moments in Place de la Concorde in Paris

Capturing moments at the Place de la Concorde in Paris

M – Fashion time! According to you, what are the major trends of the Autumn / Winter season? Is there a style or particular tones you’ll be sporting?

R- The tones of Autumn / Winter are grey / plum and I also have a soft spot for pine tree green. Not to mention a festive touch with silver glitter! Thick knitwear is also one of my faves with cigarette trousers – it’s pretty much the perfect outfit with silver loafers (I’m thinking about the ones I fell for last week!).
Rosyne in a Winter outfit at the Louvre museum

M – You recently went on a road trip in the USA, how cool! Could you tell us a bit more about this great adventure?
R – Yes! It was a trip to celebrate my degree! It was awesome! What can I tell you about this country that I loved and where I’m considering settling in the future… Well, everything is disproportionate in the US yet people are all really nice and polite! Not like here in France… I discovered amazing landscapes and also super cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas! I found our planning for the trip was perfect. Some moments of escape in parks and then back to the cities – it was amazing! Every week on my blog, I post an article about a step in my journey. Make sure to stop by, this weekend – it’s Las Vegas!

M – Challenge time! The new collection is out now – so we challenge you to create a styleboard with your favourite pair!
R – I’m falling for the Flamille wellies and the Jumpmat chelsea boots in Caramel. With the high boots, I picture a pair of tights, my suede black skirt, a lace white top and a grey wooly cardigan. A simple outfit that can easily be worn on a party night. With the chelsea boots, I’m thinking slim black pants, my black and green checked shirt and my beige trench! A more laid back style, for a day to shop!

Méduse talks with… As Wildchild

2 Dec , 2015

Camille is a fashion, food and lifestyle blogger
Last week we caught up with fashionista and food Emma, and this week we’re talking to a blogger of similar tastes – ‘As Wildchild’.
Catch her cooking up a storm or find her being in touch with her Zen. Camille is a fashion, lifestyle and food blogger who lives the care-free life, and loves nothing more than being ‘Gipsy & Wild’.

“I think THE piece this winter is the suede or denim skirt”

Brandy Melville Cardigan and hat and Primark dress

Camille wears a Brandy Melville cardigan and hat, with a Primark dress

M – You’re a blogger who never stops writing about fashion, food & lifestyle, among other great topics!. With ‘Be Gipsy & Wild’ as your motto, we’d love to know, what is the meaning behind the name?
C – Haha so let me begin with ‘Wild’ simply because this word echoes freedom to me, the idea of not caring too much about things and letting the flow of the wind carry me. It also relates to nature, which I love. I’m not waiting for things to happen in my life, I just follow my heart and go. And ‘Gipsy’ because I love the folk and the travelling feeling of the word… it creates an atmosphere that I really love. It also has a sense of authenticity and freedom (I’m a traveller in the soul). I don’t follow codes and I hate to be labelled… to me it’s a word with a wide meaning. Beyond their definition, they have different connotations to people and that’s what I like, they don’t label me.
Brandy Melville tee-shirt and coat, Zara denim, Deena & Ozzy shoes and L’usine à lunettes sunglasses

Once again, Camille rocks a Brandy Melville t-shirt and coat, Zara denim jeans, Deena & Ozzy shoes and L’usine à Lunettes sunglasses

M – A fashion Q! We’ve noticed you especially love vintage, boho-chic outfits. In your opinion, what will be the major trend this winter? Is there any particular tone you’ll be rocking?
C – 70’s are making their comeback but it’s not the style I identify the most to… Camel, ochre, mustard, burgundy and pine tones are huge this season but they don’t really suit me! I’m more into grey, navy blues, white, beige… etc ^^
I think THE piece this winter is a suede or denim skirt, with a line of buttons in front.  I also have a soft spot for polo necks.
Brandy Melville jumper, Shein skirt, Rosegal & Brandy Melville bracelets, les partisanes watch and Pretty Wire necklace

Working a Brandy Melville jumper and bracelets, a Shein skirt, Rosegal & Brandy Melville bracelets, a Les Partisanes watch and a Pretty Wire necklace

M – You’re a total foodie, and your blog is full of tasty treats! What is the kookiest dish or ingredient you’ve come across in the culinary world?
C – I think the ‘kookiest’ ingredient I’ve used were lotus roots for a culinary challenge. I recently had  the chance to have dinner at the U’ni restaurant in Nantes where I explored surprising, yet and delicious flavours.

Read more about the fig tartlet recipe on Camille’s blog

M – Time for a challenge! The new Méduse collection for rainy days is out now! With your favourite pair, we challenge you to create a styleboard with your very own touch!
Lookboard with Asos, Urban outfiters, Méduse and Pimkie brands

Camille’s styleboard features Méduse Flamille boots, Asos tunic and denim gilet, Pimkie hat and Urban Outfitters clutch

Thank you Camille, for joining us this week! We’ll definitely take note of the trends you have your eye on this season! Stay up to date with her latest happenings on her blog and Instagram.

Méduse talks with… Emma’s Looking Glass

25 Nov , 2015

Interview Emma's Looking glass
Last time, we got close with fashion & beauty pro Les idées SoAddict, this week it’s all about Emma’s Looking Glass.

Through chronic illness, Emma decided to set up a blog, so that she had a platform to share her passions, including details of her own style, tasty treats, intricate illustrations and more with the world.

“For Autumn I love mustard yellows, sage green and burgundy colours, it makes me happy to see them on trend this year.”

samantha walden
M – Emma! So we’ve spotted that not only are you a fashion & lifestyle blogger, but you’re also an artist, photographer – and cat lover! Could you tell us a bit more about yourself, your projects and your blog?
E – I’ve always been really creative and I trained at the London college of fashion back in 2009 before becoming chronically ill. I have two long term illnesses, ME/CFS and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, both have had a dramatic effect on all aspects of my life. It was hard to come to terms with a much slower pace of life at such a young age and left me feeling like I had lost my identity. I wasn’t really aware of blogging until my friend from uni suggested I started a blog, I always enjoyed modelling her creations when we were studying, so the idea of sharing my outfits seemed like a fun idea. A few years on and I don’t know where I would be without my own creative space online, Emma’s Looking Glass has really helped me to engaged with the outside world as well as allowing me to be creative when my body allows it. It’s also helped me maintain and improve my photography skills. I hope one day to be well enough to own an online shop to sell my own illustrations and photography prints. That’s the dream! But for now I focus my energy on smaller projects, earlier this year I created 8 personalised illustrations which I sold with all profits going towards a fund raiser for ME Research Uk, I also dressed up as a princess for a day – which I blogged as an outfit and was a lot of fun too! Both projects combined raised £1189.04 for charity which I’m very proud of.
wood watch skirt and denim jacket outfit
M – We’ve noticed you’re flaunting many floral prints, yet you’re loving autumn on your Instagram! What styles will you be wearing this season? Are there any particular shades that you think fit the season?
E – I do love a good floral print but sometimes I just want to step away from them, on those days I pick stripes. I have at least 10 striped tops. I think it’s becoming a bit of an issue! For Autumn I love mustard yellows, sage green and burgundy colours, it makes me happy to see them on trend this year.
windram design
M – You’re a foodie with many quirky recipes in stock! Which treats are you addicted to at the moment?
E – I have a really sweet tooth, I’d be happy to eat cake everyday, all day if I could. I also love salt and a silver lining of having Chronic illnesses is that my cardiologist recommends lots of salt! At the moment I’ve been enjoying some amazing homemade sea salted fudge that my best friend bought back for me from a trip to Cornwall a few weeks ago. It’s a great treat that I can’t leave alone!
woodland cakes
M – Challenge time! With autumn well and truly here, our Jumpy boots are hot on the scene. Thus we challenge you to mock up a styleboard using a pair from our Jumpy boot collection! How would you pair it with accessories and clothes? Up for the challenge? 😉
E – I loved picking out an outfit for this challenge! I’m currently obsessed with this Mod Dolly acorn shirt and I think pinafore dresses are so sweet and versatile this time of year.  I’ve picked out the tan buckle detailing to the Méduse boots and used that as a base colour for the coat and bag which I think would tie the look in nicely. I hope you like it!

Thank you so much for your time Emma, we agree that dressing as a princess for the day should be a standard! Keep in touch with Emma’s crafts, recipes and outfits on her blog & amazing Instagram!

Méduse talks with… Les idées SoAddict

4 Nov , 2015

Last week, you met Constance from The Clothes Paper, a lovely horse rider who’s passionate with fashion. This week’s Q&A is with none other than Sophie from, “Les Idées SoAddict”!
After a year rich in adventures, from venturing into beginning her own blog, a YouTube channel and meeting with fellow inspiring bloggers, Sophie’s journey keeps on going! Her motto? Be your own kind of beautiful, just like Marilyn Monroe!

I particularly like the JUMPZEBR. These boots make me wanna jump in puddles”

M – You’re a talented blogger & vlogger who loves all things fashion, beauty and DIY… Could you tell us a bit more about you?
S – My name’s Sophie and I’m 34 years old. I’m a fashion, beauty, DIY and lifestyle blogger since February 2014. I love to have fun with my looks by sporting contrasting styles (e.g. chic & cosy) and my own touch of originality (often in the red tones). I remain a child at heart and have fun when it comes to my style. Breaking fashion stereotypes amuses me, like wearing a skirt with sneakers.
Idées So Addict
M – In your DIY & beauty tutorials, you have more than one tip and trick in stock! Where are all these ideas coming from?
S – Before being a blogger I watched a lot of YouTube videos especially Sandrea26france. They really taught me basic beauty tips. Overtime, I came up with a universe that suits me, and ever since, many “addictive” ideas run through my mind which explains my nickname “So Addict” 😉

M – You’ve recently been invited to your first blogger party. We are curious to know, how it was? Do you consider it a reward or an achievement, for the time dedicated to your blog, your YouTube channel and to your fans?
S – I felt funny at my first blogger night, it was completely crazy! I’m where I am today thanks to Instagram, the platform We Are the Models, and my devoted readers. This invitation was a recognition of the work accomplished on my blog. I’ll never thank my readers enough for that and I do reward their loyalty. By the way, there are much more surprises to come. Stay tuned 😉

M – We have a challenge for you! The new collection Autumn – Winter 2015 / 2016 is out now! We would like to challenge you to create a styleboard with one of your fave pairs! Up for it?
S – I love challenges! I particularly like the JUMPZEBR. These boots make me wanna jump in puddles 😉 whilst still keeping the glam factor.  I’m definitely a child at heart haha!

We can just see it – you jumping about in puddles, but still looking effortlessly cool! Thanks you so much for joining us Sophie! Keep up to date with Sophie’s blog and Instagram for a very addictive world!
