Méduse Talks With… Samantha – Let’s travel around the world!

24 Jun , 2015

Meduse featured image - Samantha

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

‘I would definitely take your Méduse Jumpy boots travelling anywhere’

A fashion blogger, curious spirit and globe trekker – Samantha has it all! Coming from all the way down under (Australia), this cool cat came to our attention when we spotted her original sense of style. Not only is she up for the #MeduseColor challenge, she’s also game for our interview! Check it out…

M – So jelly lover, how would you introduce yourself in a few words?
S – My name is Samantha and I run my own Fashion/Travel Blog called Rapunzille. I’m Australian but I am always seeking my next adventure!
I use fashion as a way to express who I am and how I feel. I love to travel often to continuously throw myself into new situations. I find that it helps me grow as a person – especially my last trip to Canada for nearly 7 months!
I’m a Graphic Designer, so I’m infatuated with prints and colours! Which drew me to Méduse’s amazing collection of shoes! I associate colour with being happy and also the summertime! My two favourite things!

M – So we had a sneaky look at your blog (it’s too good!), and saw that you like to visit our beloved Paris! What makes you love the place so much? Is it the French culture? Fashion? Food? Or something else?
S – Oh my goodness! Paris is divine! The architecture makes me feel as though I’ve stepped into a fairytale. The fact that so many influential fashion designers are based in Paris makes me infatuated with the city! However, the food, the language and the lifestyle is far different than to what I’m used to! This excites me and makes me want to keep visiting Paris, and also explore the rest of France! At one point last year I was learning French, and I had so much fun doing it, but life got in the way. I do need to start practising again soon!

Meduse - Samantha2

M – Your snapshots are shot in beautiful settings, such as Canada! If you were to have a photoshoot in our Jumpy boots (our take on the Chelsea boots), where would you go?
S – Thanks! Canada was beautiful ! I’ve done sooooo much travelling (more countries to be added to the blog soon) that I’m finally back in Australia and appreciate the amazing natural wonders that I have in my own country! I would definitely take your Méduse Jumpy boots travelling anywhere, they are so versatile and really jazz up the average fashion boot! I would climb rocks on the beautiful sandy Australian beaches with my Jumpy boots and go on adventures in the Blue Mountains etc! I would also definitely pack them for my next trip to Europe!

M – And finally! You’ve just submitted a superb photo for #MeduseColor contest – well done! What was the inspiration behind your outfit? Do you like to mix and match colour?
S – Thank you ! The inspiration behind it actually was that I got that dress in a little shop in Nice, France. I thought it would be perfect to enter a dress I bought in France for the competition! The patterns remind me of the detail on the architecture in Europe! The patterns on the dress, mixed with the red colour and brown and white bag, create a casual summer look that mixes up colours in a fun vibrant way !

MeduseColor - samanthajay4

Well Samantha we hope you take us on your next trip! We can DEFINITELY fit in your suitcase… 😉 It’s been awesome chatting to you, thanks for the style tips and we’re always happy to meet jelly lovers from around the world! We wish you the best of luck for #MeduseColor! Take a look at Samantha’s inspiring Instagram and blog for tips on travel and fashion!

What about you guys? Where would you take your Jumpy boots if you were off on an adventure?

Méduse Talks With Grace – A creative mind in the sky…

17 Jun , 2015

Untitled design (1)

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

“I am a tiny Irish girl who does her very best to be a tiny bit French.”

Coming from all the way in Ireland, Grace is now a nurse based in London and boy, has she got that ‘London street style’ with a hint of Frenchness. (Just check out her London rooftop shoot in Méduse!) The mash up of owning the best of these two looks, is what keeps her ticking, and her snapshots speak for themself. With bundles of energy and unlimited creativity, Grace is a wise one!

M: So! Who are you jelly lover?
G: Hi! I’m Gracie I am a tiny Irish girl who does her very best to be a tiny bit French.

M: Tell us a bit more about your photoshoot in Méduses! What were the ideas behind the shots?
G: So we thought about the brand and the history of the shoe. I wanted to keep it simple and chic but also very true to my personal style! I teamed the meduse with a classic Breton strip top and navy silk shorts, basically what I live in during the (cold) British summer!

Meduse interview - Grace2

M: We’re in love with your Instagram – it shows such character from your personal life, to the idols you love. How does your Instagram reflect who you are and your loves in life?
G: I take my job extremely seriously however I really need to detach from it. I decided to use my Instagram as a medium to meet other creative minds. I’m honest and open and I think that comes across on my page.

M: As you’re a fashion expert, can you tell us what to wear with Méduse? 😉
G: Everything ! I will be wearing them for my surf holiday in Biarritz in July and as it cools down I will be wearing them with knee socks and an LBD around Shoreditch !

M: And one last thing! What 4 blogs do you recommend keeping an eye on?
G: Oh my god only 4 ?! Ok my really good friend Jess (we both worked as waitresses when I first moved to London) : @ihavethisthingfor .
I also love @eastlondonkiddo who takes beautiful photographs!
I adore this Irish beauty @thebubblecollective
This last girl has incredible style and is also Irish: @eimearvarianbarry

We told you so! Grace is a gal who’s tip-top on Instagram and she certainly knows a thing or two about what stars to keep an eye on! Sending you a huge jelly high-five Grace, we hope you loved standing on top of London’s skyline in our Méduse! Keep up to date with her musings and snapshots here.

10 Jun , 2015

Coralie featured image

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

“My mum is very classy, she is a real French ‘Maman'”

She knows how to strike a pose and pull a funny face at the same time! Our prized winner of #MamanMeduse contest, Coralie, invites us into her and her ‘mamans’ wonderfully crazy world!

M: Woohoo! First we’d like to say congrats on being the winner of #MamanMeduse! Tell us, what was the inspiration behind the photo with you and your ‘maman’?
C – Well our family is a bit crazy and wild, but we like to stay happy no matter what! So, through this photo I hoped to make people smile but also to show off how we bounce off each other!

M: You and your ‘maman’ can now rock the ‘team jellies’ look! How will you and your ‘maman’ be planning to wear your Méduse together? Send us a picture!
Voilà

Coralie1

M: You are well and truly French, so can you describe how your ‘maman’ shows off her French traits? Is it her chic style, or something else?
C – Regarding her French traits, my mum is very classy – she is a real French ‘maman’. Why? Because she doesn’t care about what people think and she lives for herself and her family… and nothing is more beautiful than that!

P.S: She’s super modern when it comes to fashion and she often asks me for advice!

M: Many daughters and their ‘mamans’ like to hang out, whether it’d be for a shopping trip, or watching a chick-flick with a tub of Ben & Jerry’s! What do you two like to get up to, when you’re together?
C – We have so many mother/daughter rituals! The kiss and hug before going to bed. We help each other, we motivate each other and we love to bake in the evenings as well! And when it comes to shopping? Well that’s unavoidable haha!

Ooh! You and your ‘maman’ sure do put a smile on our face. Keep up the spirit! You fully deserved to be the winners of #MamanMeduse and we hope you both share your style tips with Méduse! Stay tuned to Coralie’s Instagram here!

What about you? What fun things do you and your ‘maman’ get up to? Comment here!

Méduse Talks With… Boutique, Quattro Rish!

21 Apr , 2015

0422 feature image quattrorish

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

Spotting our fellow Jumpy lovers from the UK, Quattro Rish, a buzzing boutique, share their tips and trends for spring / summer 15! They have an eye for simple, elegant fashion and they certainly keep our minds ticking with their fresh fashion predictions. Here we go!

You are 4 friends who launched your fashion boutique in the UK. How would you describe your current collections?

Yes we were four friends to begin with but now we are a husband and wife team as the other couple decided to move back to sunny Sicily just after shop was opened ! We have a wonderful team at QR who all help with styling and buying along with our very own blogger! As a rule of thought I sell what I love and what I would wear keeping it simple, understated and elegant with pieces which reflect my style. Our current collections are mostly Scandinavian brands such as Baum und Pferdgarden, Custommade and Twist & Tango which offer edgy, simple and understated designs. We also love casual French pieces like your fab wellies and American Vintage, and the fresh and clean English pieces from MiH Jeans.

Meduse - Quattrorish1

We love how there’s a touch of Frenchness with your style and photography! What accessories would you wear, to show off a nouveau French style for this season?

Ah , thank you, that’s a great compliment! The must have accessories would be a pair of round shaped sunnies with a fringe bag.  Both instantly update any outfit for some serious street style.

Meduse - Quattrorish2

If you could live life in one colour, what would it be and why?

It has to be blue, from navy to dark to light blue ! There is nothing more chic and elegant than a slightly loose blue masculine shirt in good cotton worn by women!  You just need to add heels or Jumpy wellies, et voilà !

Here’s a tricky question – if you had to choose, what is your favourite Jumpy boot and why?

Hmmm, I love them all but it would have to be the classic black with zebra print on the side. They are just super cool and stylish. They can be worn very smart or casual, I just love the design mix of the Chelsea boots / wellington boot / discreet animal print !

And now for a challenge! We know you love our Jumpy boots, so we challenge you to showcase and encapsulate these two things in one photo: Méduse + spring. Are you up for the challenge?

We love a challenge ! Challenge : Sun, fresh green, sky blue, denim shorts and Jumpy in Salmon / Pink !

Meduse - Quattrorish3

You said it! We think we’ll take you up on that Spring image 😉 sun, blue skies, cool denims and our beloved Jumpy boots! Thank you very much for speaking with us Quattro Rish, we really look forward to seeing your summer surprises in Méduse!

Explore their website here and stay tuned for their fashion finds of the day, on their Instagram here!

Au revoir for now!

Méduse Talks… With Emma Eliott

20 Mar , 2015

Close Up Emma's Meduse Jumpy Boots

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week,  a new star…

It’s officially Spring today! Yes, the clouds may still be hanging about, but we’re certain that the sun will shine… soon!

But to get us prepped and ready for Spring fashion trends, we spoke to a fashionista who’s in love with vintage style, photography and is a total Jumpy lover! Her Instagram is a place where you can daydream about walks in nature, scrummy food and life in her Jumpy boots (there’s lots of them!). It’s Emma Eliott!

Emma in Black Jumpy Boots
Spring is coming!  Are you more flower power or rockstar?

I would say I am more “flower power!”
I am nowhere near cool enough for Rock Star!
I try to be a really happy and positive person and I love to put a quirky spin on any style I embrace, I love to look at things a little differently!
Emma Eliott in Black Jumpy Boots
Describe this season in 3 words.
I think for me especially in my role in retail, I get such a thrill buying and seeing each new season unfold.
This season to me can be summed up as, pastels, monochrome, and prints. (So hard for me not to say AMAZING, INSPIRING, ASPIRATIONAL before each one!)
Emma's Meduse Jumpy Styleboard
Which colour Méduse says ‘spring’ to you and why?
I have to say that the colour Méduse that makes me so excited and totally embodies spring for me is the SUN Paille sandal.
sunpaille__074895800_1712_18112014
They are so fresh and cheerful in daffodil yellow that they would look super cute with pretty ankle socks and boyfriend jeans right now and amazing in the hot sun with a pretty little summer dress. Just gorgeous!!
Emma's Meduse Jumpy Boots
We love your pics on Instagram… Tell us, what is your favourite Instagram filter? What does it say to you?
Posting pictures on Instagram gives me such pleasure! And has really allowed my confidence in my style to grow.
My favourite filter is for sure Valencia, it works so well at diffusing the light in a gentle way, with a cool yellow tint that really brings my pictures to life. It says “fresh” which resonates with me as I love to look at fashion and styling in a fresh and new way.

Quirky question alert!

When is your birthday and what would be your ideal gift?

Well! My birthday falls on September 23rd and I have to be honest I have got my heart set on a pair of Méduse Jumpy in Saumon/Crêpe.
jumpysaumoncrepe__083221300_1751_18112014
I love, love this colour! It is neutral enough enough to work with any outfit and pretty enough to cheer up any rainy September days that Autumn may bring! Heaven!
Emma Eliott in Black Jumpy Boots 2
What superpower do you wish you had?
Oooooo! If I had a super power it would definitely be the ability to be invisible!
Just imagine all the front row shows at Paris fashion week I could sneak into!!! Wearing my Méduse Jumpy’s of course!!
Emma, you’ve totally got us in the mood for Spring. COME ON SUNSHINE!
Screenshot (28)
We hope you have lots of fun with all your Jumpy boots, and we want to thank you for your contribution to the Méduse world!
And to all our dear friends, check out Emma’s Instagram here. It will make you smile, for sure! X

19 Mar , 2015

Meduse Styleboards Jutam vs Nikita

Each week we cover a theme that is close to our jelly-hearts. We love to dig deep and write our thoughts on trends, fiction and culture in our diary here!

With the fashion weeks over and Spring officially starting on the 20th March, we’re feeling… well very seasonal! This Spring / Summer 15 we’re excited to reveal that we have two awesome colours which are joining our Méduse family! And they are the Saumon, a pinky-peachy salmon shade, and the Vert d’eau, a minty sea-green!

And with that, we’ve picked out the two hottest Spring trends that we saw on the catwalk – cool culottes and killer kimonos. They’re everywhere this season!

We’re starting of one of our spring looks with these monochrome printed culottes, teamed with our shiny new pair of Salmon Jutam Méduse. Embellish your coral / culottes look with a jewelled shirt, like this one from River Island!
