“We used to wear the Méduse shoes when we were young… and we still wear them today!”
You guys know it – it puts a great big smile on our face when we hear from jelly lovers around the world. And now? We couldn’t be more chuffed with this little star who popped along for a sweet chat. Let us introduce Amalia – the hero, the creator behind the Facebook group #LoveMyMeduses. Make way!
M – Tell us: how did you come up with the idea of creating a group for Méduse-lovers?
A – I am in charge of a boutique shop for the #TEXTO brand, and we currently sell Méduse jelly shoes. My of-the-wall personality and a shred of nostalgia made me get back to the Méduse basics, in a modern and feminine way! For the story, I created the #LoveMyMeduses fan club right after a hen party with my friends. I brought a pair of jelly shoes with me in my suitcase for this special occasion. All the girls literally fell in love with my Méduse outfits. A few days later, the bride-to-be posted a message on my Facebook wall, telling me she had bought the same shoes, then a second girl did the same, then a third… After that, I simply commented “what if we create a fan club?”. #LoveMyMeduses was born.
M – How would you best describe the group?
A – #LoveMyMeduses is made for all the nostalgic people willing to take a leap back to their childhood – which really feels good from time to time ;-). We used to wear the Méduse shoes when we were young… and we still wear them today! Growing up with my Méduse shoes, and wearing them again this summer, makes me super happy. Of course, you guys are all welcome to the facebook group!
M – What are your best memories with Méduse?
A – I have some good memories with #Meduse. My first go back to my childhood, at our country house, during the summer holidays. We used to go to the nearby river, which we intimately called the “La Vanne à patauger nos petons” (the pond). I was with my grandmother and sister, and we were splashing around in the water with our hats and Méduse shoes on, to protect ourselves from the sun and the rocks. I remember eating our favorite LU cookies – the two biscuits with a delicious layer of chocolate in the middle. To be honest – these holidays were my sweetest childhood memories – simple, comforting…
M – Challenge! You know that we love fashion 😉 ! What is the best Méduse outfit to match with your style?
A – Here’s a picture of me… 25 years later, on the same riverside, wearing my Méduse shoes:
A – I hope I managed to meet your expectations! Thank you #Meduse for being present in our lives. I am excited to see your next collection. You’ve definitely got a fan !! 😉
M – You Amalia, is what we call a stylish, super, SUPERFAN. Thank you very much for speaking to us and sharing your stories from the past to present. We hope you have many more moments with your Méduses in the future!

‘I would definitely take your Méduse Jumpy boots travelling anywhere’
A fashion blogger, curious spirit and globe trekker – Samantha has it all! Coming from all the way down under (Australia), this cool cat came to our attention when we spotted her original sense of style. Not only is she up for the #MeduseColor challenge, she’s also game for our interview! Check it out…
M – So jelly lover, how would you introduce yourself in a few words?
S – My name is Samantha and I run my own Fashion/Travel Blog called Rapunzille. I’m Australian but I am always seeking my next adventure!
I use fashion as a way to express who I am and how I feel. I love to travel often to continuously throw myself into new situations. I find that it helps me grow as a person – especially my last trip to Canada for nearly 7 months!
I’m a Graphic Designer, so I’m infatuated with prints and colours! Which drew me to Méduse’s amazing collection of shoes! I associate colour with being happy and also the summertime! My two favourite things!
M – So we had a sneaky look at your blog (it’s too good!), and saw that you like to visit our beloved Paris! What makes you love the place so much? Is it the French culture? Fashion? Food? Or something else?
S – Oh my goodness! Paris is divine! The architecture makes me feel as though I’ve stepped into a fairytale. The fact that so many influential fashion designers are based in Paris makes me infatuated with the city! However, the food, the language and the lifestyle is far different than to what I’m used to! This excites me and makes me want to keep visiting Paris, and also explore the rest of France! At one point last year I was learning French, and I had so much fun doing it, but life got in the way. I do need to start practising again soon!
M – Your snapshots are shot in beautiful settings, such as Canada! If you were to have a photoshoot in our Jumpy boots (our take on the Chelsea boots), where would you go?
S – Thanks! Canada was beautiful ! I’ve done sooooo much travelling (more countries to be added to the blog soon) that I’m finally back in Australia and appreciate the amazing natural wonders that I have in my own country! I would definitely take your Méduse Jumpy boots travelling anywhere, they are so versatile and really jazz up the average fashion boot! I would climb rocks on the beautiful sandy Australian beaches with my Jumpy boots and go on adventures in the Blue Mountains etc! I would also definitely pack them for my next trip to Europe!
M – And finally! You’ve just submitted a superb photo for #MeduseColor contest – well done! What was the inspiration behind your outfit? Do you like to mix and match colour?
S – Thank you ! The inspiration behind it actually was that I got that dress in a little shop in Nice, France. I thought it would be perfect to enter a dress I bought in France for the competition! The patterns remind me of the detail on the architecture in Europe! The patterns on the dress, mixed with the red colour and brown and white bag, create a casual summer look that mixes up colours in a fun vibrant way !
Well Samantha we hope you take us on your next trip! We can DEFINITELY fit in your suitcase… 😉 It’s been awesome chatting to you, thanks for the style tips and we’re always happy to meet jelly lovers from around the world! We wish you the best of luck for #MeduseColor! Take a look at Samantha’s inspiring Instagram and blog for tips on travel and fashion!
What about you guys? Where would you take your Jumpy boots if you were off on an adventure?

“I am a tiny Irish girl who does her very best to be a tiny bit French.”
Coming from all the way in Ireland, Grace is now a nurse based in London and boy, has she got that ‘London street style’ with a hint of Frenchness. (Just check out her London rooftop shoot in Méduse!) The mash up of owning the best of these two looks, is what keeps her ticking, and her snapshots speak for themself. With bundles of energy and unlimited creativity, Grace is a wise one!
M: So! Who are you jelly lover?
G: Hi! I’m Gracie I am a tiny Irish girl who does her very best to be a tiny bit French.
M: Tell us a bit more about your photoshoot in Méduses! What were the ideas behind the shots?
G: So we thought about the brand and the history of the shoe. I wanted to keep it simple and chic but also very true to my personal style! I teamed the meduse with a classic Breton strip top and navy silk shorts, basically what I live in during the (cold) British summer!
M: We’re in love with your Instagram – it shows such character from your personal life, to the idols you love. How does your Instagram reflect who you are and your loves in life?
G: I take my job extremely seriously however I really need to detach from it. I decided to use my Instagram as a medium to meet other creative minds. I’m honest and open and I think that comes across on my page.
M: As you’re a fashion expert, can you tell us what to wear with Méduse? 😉
G: Everything ! I will be wearing them for my surf holiday in Biarritz in July and as it cools down I will be wearing them with knee socks and an LBD around Shoreditch !
M: And one last thing! What 4 blogs do you recommend keeping an eye on?
G: Oh my god only 4 ?! Ok my really good friend Jess (we both worked as waitresses when I first moved to London) : @ihavethisthingfor .
I also love @eastlondonkiddo who takes beautiful photographs!
I adore this Irish beauty @thebubblecollective …
This last girl has incredible style and is also Irish: @eimearvarianbarry
We told you so! Grace is a gal who’s tip-top on Instagram and she certainly knows a thing or two about what stars to keep an eye on! Sending you a huge jelly high-five Grace, we hope you loved standing on top of London’s skyline in our Méduse! Keep up to date with her musings and snapshots here.
“My mum is very classy, she is a real French ‘Maman'”
She knows how to strike a pose and pull a funny face at the same time! Our prized winner of #MamanMeduse contest, Coralie, invites us into her and her ‘mamans’ wonderfully crazy world!
M: Woohoo! First we’d like to say congrats on being the winner of #MamanMeduse! Tell us, what was the inspiration behind the photo with you and your ‘maman’?
C – Well our family is a bit crazy and wild, but we like to stay happy no matter what! So, through this photo I hoped to make people smile but also to show off how we bounce off each other!
M: You and your ‘maman’ can now rock the ‘team jellies’ look! How will you and your ‘maman’ be planning to wear your Méduse together? Send us a picture!
M: You are well and truly French, so can you describe how your ‘maman’ shows off her French traits? Is it her chic style, or something else?
C – Regarding her French traits, my mum is very classy – she is a real French ‘maman’. Why? Because she doesn’t care about what people think and she lives for herself and her family… and nothing is more beautiful than that!
P.S: She’s super modern when it comes to fashion and she often asks me for advice!
M: Many daughters and their ‘mamans’ like to hang out, whether it’d be for a shopping trip, or watching a chick-flick with a tub of Ben & Jerry’s! What do you two like to get up to, when you’re together?
C – We have so many mother/daughter rituals! The kiss and hug before going to bed. We help each other, we motivate each other and we love to bake in the evenings as well! And when it comes to shopping? Well that’s unavoidable haha!
Ooh! You and your ‘maman’ sure do put a smile on our face. Keep up the spirit! You fully deserved to be the winners of #MamanMeduse and we hope you both share your style tips with Méduse! Stay tuned to Coralie’s Instagram here!
What about you? What fun things do you and your ‘maman’ get up to? Comment here!
“I always loved wearing Méduses because we you can do anything with these shoes!”
She stands loud and proud from our beloved city of Nantes, and she snaps her Méduse footsteps with her adorable little dog – and y’know what? He’s jelly! In this interview, we walk through her favourite highlights of Nantes and her love for Méduse!
M: So tell us! Who are you, jelly lover?
E: So, who am I? I was born and bred in Nantes and I have lived there for 19 years, up until now, as I’m studying Art in Rennes’ University of Human Science. (Rennes 2.) So, I can’t say I am 100% “nantaise” anymore!
M: Challenge : Well, we would love to see a picture of you dress up with the perfect outfit to wear with your black jellies!
M: It’s pretty cool how we’re both from the Nantes region! Where do you like exploring in Nantes? And where would be the best place to hang out in your jellies?
E: In Nantes, the best places to hang out with my jellies are Trentemoult (even though it’s not really in Nantes) and the island of Nantes and the city centre of course! In fact, as soon as the sun is out, I go everywhere with my jet black jellies! They suit all kinds of places!
M: Your jet black jellies (we love them 😉 ) – how do you like to style them up?
E: I always loved wearing Méduses because we you can do anything with these shoes! You can dip in the water, stroll on the sand, walk in the countryside, garden, in the city – you can even wear them to a party!
Now you guys now know exactly where to go and walk in your Méduses in Nantes! Thanks Elsa for all your tips and tricks! We’ll definitely be following your footsteps! You too can follow Elsa on her Instagram to see the snapshots of her life!
And what about you? In which part of your city would you take your Méduse with you? Leave your comment below!
“Méduses make my feet happy”
Floral prints, pastel tones and an eye for detail! Welcome to an intriguing world of a true Parisienne, make way for Mélanie…
M: So Mélanie! If your name appeared in a dictionary, what would it say?
MB: The definition of my name could mean something like ‘to be romantic’. It means to recognise beauty, the sublime, bring special moments and enjoy the little things in life. For example, you why not buy flowers for yourself, frame a postcard, write with a special pen, experience new things, smile, taste new flavours, walk aimlessly, discover new places, and most of all – enjoy the moments.
M: We’re totally in love with your Instagram and your use of soft colours and patterns! What is your inspiration behind your photography?
MB: My inspiration mainly comes from images I find on Pinterest and from other Instagram profiles. I love to follow Jésus Sauvage and Local Milk in particular. I like pictures to feature small details which show a snapshot of everyday life. I like taking ordinary photos and I try to enhance them by showing a specific detail or snapping in a certain angle. I take loads of photos, to make sure I get the perfect photo and I notice that from each snapshot I take, my photos become better and the beauty becomes more alive. It’s a philosophy of life!
M: Can you finish this sentence? ‘Jelly and…?
MB: The first thing that comes to mind is a small slogan “Méduses make my feet smile”. I think it’s a good translation of my state of mind when I decide to wear my pair of Méduses. I know my friends notice them – first, they smile and then they’re reminded of their childhood. There is always a debate about jelly shoes and I like that. I have been complimented at the train station, in the supermarket and at uni! People are both nostalgic and happy to see Méduses are still on stage! I mainly wear them in Paris, and definitely not as a part of a fancy dress outfit! It’s a fashion accessory – they’re fun, quirky and eye-catching!
M: We know you’re a total jelly lover! So we have a challenge for you! Your mission is to create an outfit which is blinging and sparkling, to match with your glittery gold Méduse! Are you up for it? Send us a photo of your creation!
MB: Here are some photos I took this weekend showing my way of wearing Méduse!
And the outfit is just like we imagined – hip, classic yet swanky! Thank you Mélanie for taking the time to share your story with us. Who’s up for flicking through Mélanie’s awesome Instagram? We are!
What about you? How would you complete this slogan? Méduse and…? Comment here!
Yo! Yo! Between Paris, where she is living her student life – let’s be honest, that’s really PARTY, PARTY, PARTY (haha) and Bordeaux, where she is loving life under the sun and on beaches – well, for us – that still means party, party, party! 😉 Joséphine is painting the town pink!
On your Instagram you describe yourself as a girl between two cities! How do you identify yourself as a Parisian? And as a Bordelaise girl?
I would say that Paris represents my student life, filled with cultural activites. It’s a city I really love, every street corner is beautiful, I could walk for hours on end, if I had time!
Bordeaux is a place for my holidays – I love the sun and the beach life. It’s my family town, where I spent my childhood.
We spent some time on your Instagram, and we noticed that you love pink! So what does this colour mean to you?
Oh yes indeed, I have a little addiction for the colour! For me, it’s a colour which represents softness and childhood, as well as femininity and sensuality. And well, it’s pink – it always makes people happy!
We love going on an adventure! Where would you take Méduse in Bordeaux?
Without any hesitation, I would take you to the Miroir d’Eau. It’s not very original but Méduse would be perfect to be in, by the water. Otherwise, I would take my Méduse to Karl for brunch, walk around St Catherine street and enjoy the taste of cannelés on a terrace. Once, I put on my Méduse during shopping, and people were very surprised, to see me wearing these kinda shoes on the street. But I am 100% proud to wear them!
You’re the queen for the day, what do you do?
I would demand that pink would be the dress-code for everyone, or people would have to pay a fine! And of course, having free shopping / shop without paying 😉
What do you have in your bag?
Challenge! We’d like you to tell a joke for April Fool’s!
I’m really rubbish at jokes but I’ll give it a go!
What’s a Méduse (jellyfish) in chocolate called?
A Kinder chocolate!
…. I told you I was rubbish.
Ah come on! That’s a very sweet joke! If it’s mentioning Méduse – we will always love it 😉
Thanks Joséphine! We’re hoping for more surprises on your Instagram! Guys, we encourage you to have a look her awesome / arty photos – it’s even better than her joke! Haha 😉
We’re whisking you off to a fairy-tale land with Eva, a blogger from Nantes who rides on her unicorn and sprinkles her glitter dust all around her town. She’s quirky, cool and leaves a sparkly trail of Méduse wherever she goes!
Who are you Jelly lover?
Eva, 34 years old, and still in good shape ! I have 2 kids, who are 4 and 6 (rock’n’roll!). I write a lifestyle blog, where I make my readers discover Nantes on a unicorn’s back. My favorite colour is a sparkly pink !
What makes you an eccentric person?
Good question, I have always felt a bit different! I would say that I sparkle from head to toe.
Tell us something crazy you have done!
I lived in Paris for 10 years! Unbearable for a country girl, or someone like me coming from a smaller city. I’m kidding, I enjoyed my life in Paris. I do crazy things everyday and I want every minute to be a burst of laughter.
One word to describe Méduse 😀 ?
Only one ? FUN.
We read a recent article on your blog about the “do’s & don’ts” for Spring. What would be your ‘do’s’ for wearing Méduse this summer?
At the beach, on the rocks, at parties with sparkling socks and a mini skirt, and in town of course. There’s no specific reason. Everything goes with Méduse!
We have a lot in common Eva – we are also from Nantes :-). If you were to take someone to visit Nantes, where would you go?
Ooh, a neighbor from Nantes <3
I would take them on a traditional tour to the “Les Machines de l’Ile”, a visit to the Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne where I am living of course! … not really ;-).
Then, I’d go for a stroll in Trentemoult, a drink at the bar Le Nid, and try out all the good restaurants.. because food is life!
Et voila! We’re off now, to hop on Eva’s unicorn and fly back to our hometown of Méduse! Fancy joining?
We’d like to send a huge jelly-hug to Eva, for her interview! You’ve been a star – or should we say unicorn 😉
Au revoir for now!
Since we spotted her artwork, we were dreaming about getting in touch with her… If you’re used to hanging out on our blog, you can’t have missed it – Virginie, is an exceptional artist, and she expresses her Méduse like a true artist, who is in her zone with a crayon or paint brush in hand.
A fan of our NIKITA, she told us a story about Méduse and she took us by the hand, through her playground. As she voices her words – everything comes to standstill.
Explore ‘A Week With Méduse’ to find our highlights, picks and Méduse photos from fans around the world.
Spring is officially here! Yep, that’s right, it’s time for the flowers to bloom and for the SUN Méduse to come out and shine! We have to say – we’re keeping our fingers crossed, that the sun will come out to play, and not hide away like yesterday’s ‘solar eclipse’ haha!
And, now we turn to you! Your week in Méduse has been a funny one, we’re talking bubbles, flowers and so on!
@kkiyoshiii has a total shoe obsession! And especially with Méduse!
Cosy and cuddly in Jumpy! @Camille_mn <3
The best present ever? Of course it is! @ulyn24
And last but not least – @synonym_of_happiness bask in jelly bubble-bliss!
Stay tune for next week, it’s going to get ARTY! Here’s a clue!
Have a lovely week-end! <3
