Your weekly jelly lesson, from us to you.

Jelly step 1: Take time to LAUGH. It’s summer,
which means seriousness is cast away with the clouds.
And what better footwear is there to have a giggle
in the sun with, than well, our SUN sandals? Pick Paille to match the rays!

Jelly step 2: Start saying YES. Yes, you’re not working late,
and you will get some ice cream instead. Yes, you will take
more time to hang out with friends. Yes, you think that the
perfect pair of shoes to say ‘yes’ in is Vert d’eau JUTAM.

Jelly step 3: Remember to have FUN. Swap work
for silliness and make room for some excitement,
be it going out or staying in. Let your feet match
the fun by wearing a pair of Groseille SALSADA!

Jelly step 4: Be ADVENTUROUS. Nothing says
adventure more than Gris/Bleu RIO: be ready

Méduse & Charlotte Hollycat

12 Aug , 2015

Charlotte hollycat

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

‘I hope my Méduses tour the world!’

Méduse talks with… Charlotte!

Cats and Méduse – probably the two coolest things on the planet, and y’know what? Charlotte knows it! Let us introduce you to Charlotte Hollycat – a happy-snapping photography lover, rainbow adorer and #MeduseColor winner!

M – You are now part of the Méduse family! Who are you Jelly lover?

C – My name is Charlotte or @ _Hollycat on Instagram, I’m nearly 25 and I’ve been living in Montpellier since the start of this year. I’m passionate about photography, a summer-lover and I’m a big kid! It’s one of the reasons why I took my Méduses to live with me, down in the south of France with my boyfriend. It’s funny that you say that I’m part of the Méduse family, it’s true because my boyfriend is fascinated by jellyfish! I’m currently working for a mobile and fibre network but I hope to change soon, but I’m not sure what field just yet!

11830714_10207089698899049_1026728182_n

M – Méduse often recalls sentimental memories and stories from the past and present. What’s your story with Méduse?

C – Indeed, I think that with everyone Méduse reminds us of our childhood – when we went to the seaside with our parents, we wore our Méduses in the water. It wasn’t for style purposes, but more to avoid cuts from shells or stings from sea creatures; but today, we wear Méduse to show off its fashion features. Youngsters and older generations are wearing their Méduses to go to the beach or even downtown – they’re so comfortable! When I hear the word  « Méduse » I think of the shoes, but also the animal, naturally because of my boyfriend! I find the animal fascinating as they’re so colourful, just like your lovely shoes! Colours that make you think about summer, happiness… life.

11805734_10207043511064382_1834051141_n

M – Going back to #MeduseColor! What’s your favourite colour and what does it represent to you?

C – It’s a tough choice, as I love many colours, and I have my phases. Many will say red because it’s the colour of sensuality and love – it’s the colour to give a ‘pizzazz’ to a woman’s face. But if I had to choose a particular colour I would go for blue, sky blue, because to me it represents freedom, the ability to fly away and to travel. But also, all the beings that are now up above, that we love and won’t forget… they are watching us from the sky. There is also ocean-blue which is a reminder of the vast stretch where jellyfish live, I’m absolutely fascinated with sea life, but at the same time it scares me a little. But as I said, I love summer, beaches and Méduse!

10153025_1069172606445796_1793762897388292444_n

M – Speaking about fashion! You won three pairs of Méduses, each with a very different style. What outfit will you match them with? Where will you journey to in them? We’d love to see some snapshots!

C – I’m not the kind of girl who will prepare her outfit the night before, or ask herself how she is going to wear a specific piece of clothing. I’m more of a ‘wanna try any style combination’ type of person, even if I’m running late! I love looking through my stuff to experiment with numerous outfits. So it’s hard for me to answer your question. I will style my Méduses with dresses, jeans, shorts… ANYTHING! It’s really down to the spur of the moment. And where will I walk in them? Well anywhere I’ll be going, I love to travel! I hope my Méduses tour the world!

11815993_10207089698539040_2035598940_n

You promised that your Méduses would go on adventures – and you’ve kept it ;-). Charlotte, we hope you make many more memories with Méduse! Whether you’re hanging by jellyfish in your SUN Méduse or simply going for a stroll in your Jumpy boots during the Autumn showers! Keep up to date with Charlotte’s daily snapshots on her Instagram here!

Smile! It’s Ingrid

29 Jul , 2015

smilingrid

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

‘I had a pair of jelly sandals when I was younger and they were the only shoes I would wear’

Méduse talks with… Smilingrid!

She’s a girl who rocks a Hollywood smile, but she comes from buzzing Boston! Ingrid aka ‘Smiling Ingrid’ is a bright and colourful blogger who aims to inspire and share her zest for life! Red lipstick, coffee and jelly shoes are her loves – to mention a few! Take it away Ingrid!

M – So Ingrid, we’ve been looking at your blog and you mention a number of things you love in life (we just mentioned a few above! 😉 ) How would you summarise it in a few lines?

I – I am a very happy person, which is why my blog name combines “smiling” and my name “Ingrid”. My longest-standing passions include language, reading, and (of course) fashion! The first passion led me to study French, the second to study literature and, combined with the third, begin my blog… which then led me to the ever-fashionable Meduse!

M – We’re curious to know – how did you discover Méduse? What do our jelly shoes evoke for you?

I – I discovered Meduse through your blogger collaborations! I had a pair of jelly sandals when I was younger and they were the only shoes I would wear – I even wore them as flower girl at my aunt’s wedding! That memory is the one evoked by your brand, of nostalgia and happiness… paired with lots of beautiful flowers!

M – CHALLENGE: On your blog, you show an unconditional love for fashion! So we must ask… what’s your favourite pair of Méduse? With this, we challenge you to create the perfect outfit with these shoes and show it in a styleboard! Feel free to match it with a varnish, a lipstick… we know you have a taste for those things! 😉

I – Oh my gosh, such a hard choice! I love the Nikita for a night out and the Camino for rainy days… but I think my favorite pair of Méduses would have to be the Sun in gold glitter, because they are the grown up, more chic version of the jellies I had as a child! These are fun!

Méduse on the beach

Méduse for Fall

fall styleboard

M – You’re a jet setter, always travelling around the world! Where are you going next? And which pair of Méduse would you pack in your suitcase?

I – I’m heading to Cancun at the end of the month! I would definitely pack a pair of the Méduses Sunlight in Corail to bring with me – they’d be the perfect color against the sea and sand, plus it would be so cool to see them glow at night!

We know it, you know it, Ingrid knows it! She’s got that Méduse vibe that runs in our colourful world and we love it! Her zest for life makes us want to put on our glowing Méduse and skip towards the sun! What a gal! Thank you so much for joining us Ingrid! We love your enthusiasm, and your blog keeps us buzzing! Keep up to date with her snapshots and thoughts on her blog Smiling Ingrid here!

 A bientôt !

Méduse Talks With… Méduse !!!

17 Apr , 2015

2

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

Come on! You have to admit it. The new Méduse collection for Spring / Summer 15 is pretty damn awesome ;-). We’re forever twirling in our sparkling Nikita and we dance and prance on the rooftops of Paris in our new colours of the season.

But our inspiration stems from the heroic geniuses backstage, and we decided to chat to the clever clogs about the spirit and thought process behind our current season!

Meduse - New Rainbow

Our new collection is filled with colours that enhance the styles at Méduse. What would be THE word to describe this collection?

CANDY : because of the pastel mix that makes us think of sugar almonds and candy! And most of all, the nostalgic “back to childhood” spirit of our SUN jellies!

The new SUNLIGHT are a sparkling inspiration 😉 ! Where would be the best spots to wear them ?

Ibiza at sunset to party all night long! And for the kiddos : perfect to play ghosts in the dark :-)

Meduse - Glow in the dark

The new Saumon and Vert d’eau colors are a perfect match with the pastel trend. Why did you pick these colours ?

We needed some sweet tastes for the summer. Pastel are soft and feminine colours, which introduce the Spring season, the softness of the morning dew and the pleasure of sweet moments.

The new magazine for the new collection in collaboration with Les Paulettes is featured with pictures on the rooftops of Paris. What is the inspiration behind these pictures ?

The rooftops of Paris are synonymous with escapism and city adventure! This is the place where you chill with a few drinks with your friends or have a romantic time with your lover. It is a way to escape from the bustling city when in reality you can’t. But this is what Méduse is about – a walking holiday in the city!

Meduse - SS15 catalogue

Et voila! Words of wisdom from our backstage team!

A huge THANKS to the designers of Méduse, for sharing their words and spirit with us! Keep it up! <3

Méduse Talks… With Joséphine L.

3 Apr , 2015

Jo Lignac Socks & Jellies Set Featured Image

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week, a new star…

Yo! Yo! Between Paris, where she is living her student life – let’s be honest, that’s really PARTY, PARTY, PARTY (haha) and Bordeaux, where she is loving life under the sun and on beaches – well, for us – that still means party, party, party! 😉 Joséphine is painting the town pink!

Jo7 - Meduse interview

On your Instagram you describe yourself as a girl between two cities! How do you identify yourself as a Parisian? And as a Bordelaise girl?

I would say that Paris represents my student life, filled with cultural activites. It’s a city I really love, every street corner is beautiful, I could walk for hours on end, if I had time!

Bordeaux is a place for my holidays – I love the sun and the beach life. It’s my family town, where I spent my childhood.

Jo5 - Meduse interviewJo1 - Meduse interview

We spent some time on your Instagram, and we noticed that you love pink! So what does this colour mean to you?

Oh yes indeed, I have a little addiction for the colour! For me, it’s a colour which represents softness and childhood, as well as femininity and sensuality. And well, it’s pink – it always makes people happy!

Jo8- Meduse interview

We love going on an adventure! Where would you take Méduse in Bordeaux?

Without any hesitation, I would take you to the Miroir d’Eau. It’s not very original but Méduse would be perfect to be in, by the water. Otherwise, I would take my Méduse to Karl for brunch, walk around St Catherine street and enjoy the taste of cannelés on a terrace. Once, I put on my Méduse during shopping, and people were very surprised, to see me wearing these kinda shoes on the street. But I am 100% proud to wear them!

Jo2_Meduse interview

You’re the queen for the day, what do you do?

I would demand that pink would be the dress-code for everyone, or people would have to pay a fine! And of course, having free shopping / shop without paying 😉

What do you have in your bag?

  • Red lipstick (I can’t live without it)
  • A nail file
  • Hand sanitiser
  • A toiletry bag
  • My pink Ipod
  • My pink notebook
  • My glasses
  • My purse, of course

Jo4 - Meduse interview

Challenge! We’d like you to tell a joke for April Fool’s!

I’m really rubbish at jokes but I’ll give it a go!

What’s a Méduse (jellyfish) in chocolate called?

A Kinder chocolate!
…. I told you I was rubbish.

Ah come on! That’s a very sweet joke! If it’s mentioning Méduse – we will always love it 😉

Thanks Joséphine! We’re hoping for more surprises on your Instagram! Guys, we encourage you to have a look her awesome / arty photos – it’s even better than her joke! Haha 😉

Méduse Talks With… Eva, of Girls’n Nantes

31 Mar , 2015

GirlsNantes - Meduse interview 3

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Every week,  a new star…

We’re whisking you off to a fairy-tale land with Eva, a blogger from Nantes who rides on her unicorn and sprinkles her glitter dust all around her town. She’s quirky, cool and leaves a sparkly trail of Méduse wherever she goes!

GirlsNantes - Meduse interview 2

Who are you Jelly lover?

Eva, 34 years old, and still in good shape ! I have 2 kids, who are 4 and 6 (rock’n’roll!). I write a lifestyle blog, where I make my readers discover Nantes on a unicorn’s back. My favorite colour is a sparkly pink !

What makes you an eccentric person?

Good question, I have always felt a bit different! I would say that I sparkle from head to toe.

 GirlsNantes - Meduse interview 4

Tell us something crazy you have done!

I lived in Paris for 10 years! Unbearable for a country girl, or someone like me coming from a smaller city. I’m kidding, I enjoyed my life in Paris. I do crazy things everyday and I want every minute to be a burst of laughter.

One word to describe Méduse 😀 ?

Only one ? FUN.

We read a recent article on your blog about the “do’s & don’ts” for Spring. What would be your ‘do’s’ for wearing Méduse this summer?

At the beach, on the rocks, at parties with sparkling socks and a mini skirt, and in town of course. There’s no specific reason. Everything goes with Méduse!

We have a lot in common Eva – we are also from Nantes :-). If you were to take someone to visit Nantes, where would you go?

Ooh, a neighbor from Nantes <3

I would take them on a traditional tour to the “Les Machines de l’Ile”, a visit to the Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne where I am living of course! … not really ;-).

Then, I’d go for a stroll in Trentemoult, a drink at the bar Le Nid, and try out all the good restaurants.. because food is life!

 GirlsNantes - Meduse interview

Et voila! We’re off now, to hop on Eva’s unicorn and fly back to our hometown of Méduse! Fancy joining?

We’d like to send a huge jelly-hug to Eva, for her interview! You’ve been a star – or should we say unicorn 😉

Discover Eva’s blog, Twitter and Facebook  to see what magic she sparks in her world!

Au revoir for now!

Méduse Talks… With Hélène S.

11 Mar , 2015

Collage Méduse jelly shoes Jumpy boots by Hélène S.

At Méduse, we strive to seek out the underground talents who share our values. Another week, another star…

Her taste in fashion is certainly evident: ‘So Shoes’ – the story of French shoes, by Frédérique Veysset et Isabelle Thomas, is a book that she currently, can’t put down. She has an artistic spirit about her: she makes us dream about our Jumpy boots playing in the snow! She’s sharp, she’s everywhere at one time and she has an eye for spotting Méduse outside of our playground.

PicMonkey Collage So Shoes

And you know us, we’re always keen to highlight those with the Méduse spirit! So when we conjured up the theme of ‘Méduse Through The Ages’, it seemed obvious to contact Hélène (yes, the girl we’ve just been raving about!), a true Méduse fan. The lady is a real Frenchie, she’s lived with Méduse since her childhood and we can’t be any happier about Hélène sharing her memories with us!

10899114_977131108967898_408524618_n

What does Méduse mean to you? How have you grown up with Méduse? (We don’t mean the size!)

The practicality, the playfulness, the style and the French quality.

Méduse also signifies comfort for the rainy journeys to the beach. I’m a big fan of my Zebra Jumpy boots, even if it’s not raining!

Obviously my brothers, cousins and I have grown up with Méduse. We each had our own pair at my grandparents’ holiday home in Pouliguen (close to La Baule) and we spent our days in the rocky coves, on the boat. I couldn’t live without my little plastic shoes. (I even found some photos of my brother and I!)

unnamed (6)

Are you more of a jelly daydreamer OR a Jumpy living in the moment kind of person?

I would say, I’m 85% a dynamic Jumpy and 15% jelly daydreamer. Life is short and sweet and I like to make the most of it.

You get the opportunity to travel through time! Which century would you like to live in?

I would say, the 1930’s! Women were so elegant!

One reason you would pick this décade ?

For several different reasons. You could wear extravagant, elegant and luxurious evening-wear, designed by Coco Chanel.

But it was also the start of annual paid leave, and casual wear started to appear on the scene – hello lovely petite shorts!

Finally, since the 1930’s, the designers started using stones, studs and sequins on their creations, something which I am very fond of – just ask my friends!

RANDOM QUESTION! It’s 1946 – the year Méduse was born. If you were dancing to music in this era, would it be classical? Jazz? Or something else?

Probably American Jazz, from right after the war.

Imagine 1946. What would you wear with your jellies ?

I would opt for a lovely Capeline hat or a ribbon in my hair, a polka dot dress and a flared belted dress, and of course my SUN jelly sandals with well tanned pins!

And there you have a talk on vintage fashion! What are your fashion tips if you were to wear Méduse in 1946? Everyone has their own take! We are truly touched by Hélène sharing her memories and snapshots from her childhood. You can discover Hélène’s world on her Instagram here!

We wish you many more memories with Méduse!
